Newman ends season in style

Paul Newman (East Berks) followed up his win in the final pro-am of the season with a win in the final Order of Merit tournament the Autumn Classic with a terrific six-under 66 over the Red Course at the Berkshire Golf Club.

Without a cloud in the sky the players enjoyed the stunning Berkshire Golf Club venue at its glorious best which was reflected in the scoring with Paul Newman’s score edging out Guy Woodman, Nick Mitchell, Alistair White and Kevin Tilbury who all finished with 68.

The association now looks forward to its Winter Series events held at the Stoke Park Golf Club before returning again to the Berkshire for its season opening Order of Merit tournament the Spring Classic on Tuesday April 14, 2015.

Newman’s strong finish took him into fifth place in the 2014 BB&O Order of Merit which was won by Paul Simpson (West Berkshire).
