Ryan Newman (Kingsway Golf Centre) produced an excellent performance to finish top of the pile at qualifying for the East Region Championship.
The PGA assistant professional shot a rock solid two-under-par 71 as 14 players made it through from The Rayleigh Club.
Newman opened with eight straight pars before notching a birdie at the par-five ninth hole.
He began the inward nine by picking up a further stroke and was still two-under standing on the 15th tee. Unfortunately, he made his only bogey of the day on that hole but signed off in fine fashion with a birdie at the last.
Luke Bowers (Lakeside Lodge) was the other player to break par with a 72 that ensured qualification for his first Order of Merit event.
Also of note, Ben Cooper (Bishop's Stortford) conjured up a superb finish to make it through on the mark at plus-two.
He played the final six holes in three-under, including a crucial birdie at the last.
Thomas Obergan (Berkamsted) also picked up a shot at the par-four 18th to edge into the field for the East Region Championship at Essendon CC on June 17-18.
