Adam Clough (PGolfCoaching@Pedham) shot a stunning eight-under par 64 at Kings Hill Golf Club to win the PGA Kent Closed Championship by five strokes.
Taking home the winner’s cheque for £500, Clough asserted his dominance over a strong field comprising 84 of the county’s top PGA Professional and amateur golfers.
Speaking after his win, Clough said: "After a shaky opening par at the 10th, things quickly went into overdrive with a birdie two on the 11th and then three birdies on the trot followed by two more on 16 and 18 to put me on six-under.
"After the turn another came along at the fifth, and while the dropped shot thanks to a three putt at the short sixth was the only blemish, I bounced back and better with birdies on the seventh and ninth for a 64.
"It was one of those wonderful days when it all came together at the right time, and at the right place.”
Trailing behind in second was Knole Park’s head PGA Professional Andrew Butterfield on 69, with amateur Wildernesse’s Charles Hickling’s two-under-par 70 enough for third place and the leading amateur prize.
