Richard O'Hanlon continued his season of success by winning his fifth pro-am of the year at Oake Manor with a six-under-par 64 containing nine birdies.
The St Kew player was out in four-under 31 and back in 33 despite making three bogeys.
His previous wins were at Cotswold Hills, Truro, and Saunton and in a Midlands event at Ladbrook Park. The highlight of his season was finishing runner-up to Mark Mouland in the Farm Foods Par 3 Championship at Nailcote Hall.
He was two clear of this season’s Order of Merit winner Liam Bond (Marriott St Pierre).
The Welsh-based Lancastrian broke a run of pars with birdies at seven and eight.
Making two more at 10 and 11 pointed towards a win, but he suffered a major blow on the next hole, making a double bogey six.
But in typical cheery fashion he added birdies at the 15th and 18th to finish on 66.
Jon Bevan has not enjoyed his best playing season since he returned West from North Wales. But the Sherborne man showed his liking for the course where he won the total Triumph Classic in the past with 67 to share third with Lee Thompson (Dudsbury).
Although Thompson dropped a shot at the third he followed with four birdies. Four of his six birdies came in the final eight holes.
Paul Hendriksen (Ivybridge), winner of the Total Triumph over the same lay-out in May, started by picking up three shots in the first four holes. But he stuttered until finishing with two birdies to share fifth with another former Total Triumph champion Chris Gill (Newquay), next year’s PGA Cup captain Albert Mackenzie (Saunton), prolific James Ruth (China Fleet) and Joe Ferguson (Celtic Manor).
John Bickerton (Minehead) made six birdies in shooting 69 to finish tenth alongside Simon Stevenson (Taunton & Pickeridge).
