O’Hara and Owenson set the standard

Defending champion Paul O'Hara (North Lanarkshire Leisure) is sharing the lead on four-under-par 67 with Gullane's Marc Owenson after the first round of the Scottish Youth Professionals' Championship at West Lothian Golf Club, Bo'ness.

Fog delayed the start of play by two hours until Owenson and O'Hara had no trouble in seeing where they were going. 

Owenson made it first back to the clubhouse with the target figure of 67 (35-32), that included five birdies and a bogey.

O'Hara highlighted his halves of 36-31 with an eagle at the par five 12th. He also recorded birdies at the third, eighth, 10th and 14th and bogeys at the fourth and seventh.

Gavin Hay (Grantown on Spey), lying third on 68, had a bag of seven birdies after starting his round on a low note with bogeys at the first and second.
