Paul O'Hara (North Lanarkshire Leisure) won the Scottish Young Professionals' Championship for the third time in four years thanks to a dominant display at West Lothian Golf Club

O’Hara posted rounds of 67, 65, 63 and 68 to finish 21-under-par and claim the £1,000 winner’s cheque.

It also put him eight strokes clear of Alastair Forsyth (Mearns Castle) who finished second after negotiating the par 71 course in 65 and 69 on the final day. His earlier scores of 71 and 66 gave him a total of 271 and earned him £800.

Gavin Hay (Grantown on Spey), a previous winner of the title, shot the lowest final round of 66, after earlier scores of 68, 72 and 69, for a total of 275. He earned £610.

O'Hara's third-round, bogey-free 63 was the lowest of the tournament and included birdies at the fourth, fifth, ninth, 10th, 12th, 14th, 15th and 17th.
