Paul O’Hara came with a final round surge to grab a share of the spoils in the latest 36-hole Order of Merit Challenge on the Arnold Clark Tartan Tour at Murrayshall.
O’Hara, the dominant force on the domestic circuit in recent years, closed with a course record-equaling seven-under 65 to finish in a tie with Graeme Robertson on an 11-under aggregate.
It was the third time this season that O’Hara has finished at the top of the pile in an Order of Merit event.
Robertson, who has also enjoyed a profitable spell on the Tartan Tour in 2022, had been the joint leader after an opening 66 but O’Hara was lurking menacingly, just two shots back.
Last year’s Tartan Tour No 1 upped the ante on day two with an eagle on the third before picking up five birdies on his way to the summit.
Robertson reeled off three birdies on his last six holes as he made a dip for the line but it all finished in a dead heat. The leading duo both took home a £1350 share of the prize fund.
Craig Lee finished in third spot on nine-under after rounds of 67 and 68.
To round off a fine three days of competition at the rejuvenated Murrayshall resort, Lee topped the standings in the Pro-Am with a five-under 67. O’Hara and his amateur partners from NVT claimed the team honours.
