As part of The PGA’s vision to re-engage with its Members, Matthew Davies, PGA Regional Manager (International), travelled to the UAE to share the future plans and vision for the Association with a number of overseas Members.

Davies, a graduate of the Applied Golf Management Studies (AGMS) programme, hosted two networking dinners at Abu Dhabi Golf Club and The Els Club in Dubai.

The recent proposals to change the structure of the PGA Membership to include new defined pathways and the introduction of a ‘Business Management’ category, and the changes to the Association’s CPD offering were discussed.

“I have made a conscious effort this year to get out and visit more of our Members face-to-face to discuss the challenges they are facing and update them on what changes are taking place within The PGA that will influence them.

“Whilst it is not always feasible to do individual visits due to the wide geographical spread of our International Members, hosting evenings such as these where PGA Members can come together, learn and network with each other has tremendous value.

“I will be looking to host more of these evenings around the world so I can meet more of our overseas Members in different countries.

“I would like to provide our sincere thanks to both Abu Dhabi Golf Club and Els Club for the fantastic hospitality and support in hosting the evenings.”

If you would like to explore the possibility of hosting a PGA Member Networking event please contact Matthew Davies on matthew.davies@pga.org.uk
