The requirement to be knowledgeable and skilled when it comes to Custom Fitting is an absolute must and it is big business!
At the club knowledge in this area can make you the ‘go to’ guy for club sales. It is one of the biggest selling points and strategies you have when it comes to your battle against those discount online retailers, who are constantly competing for your customers/business!
Additionally, knowledge in this area makes you better in a number of roles. For instance, if you are a coach, knowledge of the clubs spec allows you to differentiate between swing faults and club faults. If you are retailer, custom-fit skills will allow you to add value to your sales and improve your sales process. And, if you are a custom-fitter you should already know it all but it is always best to keep up-to-date.
The reality is that many of you are all three of the things above so keeping abreast of the latest information is good business practice and time well spent!
The PGA has developed the following e-resources and PDF’s to assist you in your knowledge of Custom Fitting and will help you to put it into practice. Click on each of the e-lessons below to move forward (you can also locate these in the online resources section of PGA.info):
