Marketing (PS)

Marketing is relevant to all PGA Professionals. This article highlights more FREE PGA resources that will help you understand the principles of marketing and clarify the simple process to use in your business.

Without good marketing - ‘the best product in the world will not sell if it is not promoted properly, priced correctly or available to customers when they want it’. The goal of marketing is to satisfy customer requirements and to do that you must offer a total package that meets their needs. This ‘total package’ is known as the ‘marketing mix’ and consists of the 4p’s: Price, Product, Promotion and Place.

Let’s look at these in more detail:

  • The Price can determine how many people buy the product and how profitable it will be.
  • The Product should be designed to meet the needs of the target market.
  • The Promotion is all the means of providing information, creating customer awareness and persuading people to buy the product.
  • The Place refers to the methods of distributing the product to the customer.

Therefore, if these (above) points are misaligned it is likely your business is not being as successful as it could be. To be marketing effectively you need to ensure that you are addressing the 4p’s! The e-resource that follows identifies key tips to help you in your business.
