Online top up option for Safeguarding Children certificate

Sportscoach UK has designed an online top up option for coaches needing to complete a child safeguarding refresher course.

The move will save PGA Members from attending such courses after their initial introduction at a Safeguarding and Protecting Children which in the first instance they must attend in person with a recognized Sportscoach UK tutor.

It means from now on coaches needing to go on a refresher course (required every three years) will be able to do it from the comfort of their home rather than attending a local college or educational base.

Completing the safeguarding children course remains an important criterion for golf clubs which are trying to gain Golf Mark recognition and staff who come into close contact with children must gain the certificate.

The cost of the online course will be £16 (a saving on attending in person when the cost was £25-£30). Ten CPD points are available for the online course while 25 CPD points are available for attending a course in person.
