Open tee times revealed

PGA assistant Chris Rodgers will bring the curtain down on the opening round of this year’s Open Championship after being given the final tee time of the day.

Rodgers, based at The Drift, will endure a long wait for his major bow at Royal Liverpool as he tees off at 4.06pm along with Scotland’s former Europro No 1 Scott Jamieson and Korean Byeong-Hun An.

Scotland’s Paul McKechnie, who is making his first appearance at The Open, is out at 10.43am. Keeping him company is Sweden’s Kristoffer Broberg, who finished runner up at last week’s Scottish Open, and Juvic Pagunsan from the Philippines.

The action tees off at 6.25am with David Howell, who recently competed in his 500th European Tour event, teeing off proceedings.

Former champion and PGA member Paul Lawrie tees off at 7.42 with Ian Poulter, another former PGA graduate, off at 9.37.

Rory McIlroy gets his title bid underway at 9.26, while Tiger Woods, winner at Royal Liverpool in 2006, is off at 9.04.

Justin Rose, winner of the Scottish Open and hotly-tipped to win this year is away at 2.27pm. Defending champion Phil Mickelson gets his defence underway at 2.05pm.
