Leslie Walker and Mark O'Sullivan shared top spot in round two of the PGA Winter Series sponsored by PING at Laytown & Bettystown GC.
The pair carded two-under-par rounds of 69, finishing three shots clear of Donal Gleeson (Old Conna GC), Daniel Beattie (Deerpark Hotel & GC) and John Dwyer (Ashbourne GC).
Walker (Dundalk GC) went to the turn in two-under 34, with birdies at the second, fourth, seventh and ninth offset by a double-bogey at the par-four fifth.
His back nine was more sedate with just one dropped shot at the par-three 14th, followed by a birdie at the 17th to come home in level-par 35.
O'Sullivan (Piltown Driving Range) went one better than Walker over the front nine, turning for home in three-under 33 with birdies at the second, fourth, fifth and ninth with just the one dropped shot at the seventh.
A birdie at the 11th got him to four-under-par but a triple bogey at the par-three 14th threatened to derail his challenge before he finished with a birdie at the 17th.
In the Cobra Golf Order of Merit battle, Donal Gleeson (Old Conna GC) leads the way after two events with Leslie Walker in second and Mark O'Sullivan third.
The next tournament on the schedule is at Old Conna (Four Ball) sponsored by Acushnet on February 27th.
