Owers claims Middlesex Par-3 crown

Tim Owers (Wyke Green) triumphed at the first extra hole in the Middlesex Par-3 title at Dukes Meadows.
Owers secured a regulation par to pip Sufian Dhaduk after both tied at one-over-par in regulation play.
In the play-off Dhaduk drew a poor lie in the sand and flew the green.
He subsequently holed a 14-footer for his bogey but Owers got up and down from just off the green to clinch the win.
It capped a superb recovery from Owers who had slipped to four-over-par at the halfway stage of his round.
He rallied bravely on his second loop of the tricky nine-hole course to record a tally of 55.
Dukes Meadows’ professionals Brian Green and Scott Margetts tied for third at two-over-par.
The event was very well received and Dukes Meadows will again be hosting and sponsoring it in March, 2018.
