Pair tame weather to claim victory

Paul Simpson (West Berkshire Golf Club) and Neil Rowlands (Cotswolds Club) battled the wind and rain at Goring and Streatley to score an impressive eight-under-par 63 to claim top spot at the season opening Berkshire, Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire Pro+Pro tournament.

This was enough to finish two strokes clear of 2016 South Region Order of Merit winner Adam Wootton (Oxford Golf Centre) and partner Clive Bowler (Sonning Golf Club).

Alex Lodge and Tim Newton (both Calcot Park Golf Club) finished 3rd with a five-under-par 66.

The next event in the BB&O scedule will be the first Order of Merit tournament, the Spring Classic at the Berkshire Golf Club on Tuesday 11th April.
