Paul Hendriksen (Dinnaton) steered his season back on track with his third win in the Tavistock pro-am on the hottest day of the year.

He has now slipped down to fifth in the Race to Woodbury order of merit after winning the Bournemouth Festival, but he produced a polished display over the course bordering Dartmoor to beat Ashley Moon (Okehampton) by one shot.

He started rapidly with four birdies in the first eight holes and added two more at the 12th and 15th after dropping his only shot at the tenth.

Occasional player Moon made birdies at the ninth, tenth and 18th in one of only two error-free rounds on the day.

Adam Frayne (Yelverton) was the other player without blemish but just two birdies at the eighth and 12th left him two shots off the lead.

He shared fourth with Challenge Tour player James Ruth (St Mellion) who made a rare albatross two at the 500-yard par five 12th at a course where he and his parents have played for many years.

Ross Whitelock (St Mellion) finished joint second in 68 after starting with an eagle two at the first and adding five birdies.

Andrew Michael (China Fleet) claimed the team prize on 122, four better than club colleague Sam Miskowicz with visitor Ian Hayward (Hoebridge Golf Centre) third on 129.
