The Golf Show 2014, Europe’s largest golf trade and educational event, has announced Dave Pelz, in association with Cleveland Golf and Srixon, as the keynote speaker at this year’s Teaching and Coaching Conference.
Pelz (above with Phil Mickelson) will be joined by a number of soon-to-be-announced experts for a conference promising to deliver information to help PGA Professionals improve their coaching knowledge and increase their earning potential.
Staged on the final day of The Golf Show 2014 – to be held at the Harrogate International Centre (HIC), Yorkshire, from October 7-9, 2014 – the Teaching and Coaching Conference is open to PGA Professionals from across the globe.
Pelz, whose career started at NASA in 1961, applied physics to the game of golf from the mid 70s in frustration at his own poor short game and has gone on to become the most celebrated short game coach in the world.
Now operating popular golf schools across the USA and Europe at 17 world-class venues, Pelz has coached Tour players including Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, Lee Janzen and Payne Stewart and will share tour proven short game techniques which can be applied to golfers of all abilities.
Pelz has also become a published and critically acclaimed author, and his Short Game Bible became a New York Times national best seller.
David Colcough, The PGA’s head of member education, said: “The Golf Show Teaching and Coaching Conference is now in its third year and has established a reputation for attracting the world’s best coaches to speak, and with Pelz agreeing to speak this year, the trend continues.”
Previous Teaching and Coaching Conference speakers include David Leadbetter and Pete Cowen.
Colclough added: “PGA Professionals attending this year’s event can expect to hear about Pelz’s experience coaching at every level of the game, dispelling some of the myths about differing the approach to teaching elite and amateur golfers.
“In addition, the Teaching and Coaching Conference will feature presentations designed to drive revenue increases for our members’ coaching businesses, and numerous ways to position themselves at the heart of golf activity in their facility.”
