Andrew Pestell (Chemlsford) fired the round of his life to secure a superb four-shot win in the Colchester Pro-Am.
Pestell, 40, bagged an eagle and seven birdies in a flawless round nine-under-par round of 61.
The Essex man put together an outstanding front nine that concluded with an eagle. He drilled an 8-iron to eight feet before rolling in the putt.
He continued to pepper the flags with his short-irons, setting up chance after chance. Indeed he only missed one green in regulation all day.
He reeled off three straight birdies from the 12th and found a further one at 17.
And Pestell almost squeezed out one last gain on the 18th green, leaving a mid-range putt an inch short in the jaws.
Former European Tour player Paul Maddy (Gog Magog) finished second after a fine 65, while Nick Cains (Swaffham), Jack Frances (Old Fold Manor), Rob Coles (Maylands Golf & Country Club) and James Ruebotham (Welwyn Garden City) all tied for third on a further stroke back.
Chris Cutchie (Colchester) led home the winning team on 19-under-par.
