The PGA in England and Wales (North) is saddened to report the death of Castle Eden Golf Club PGA Professional Peter Jackson, who was reported missing after he failed to arrive at work on November 11.
Mr Jackson’s body was discovered near Hadrian’s Wall in Northumberland and police are not treating the death as suspicious.
The 38-year-old, who has been based at the club for 13 years, leaves a wife, Alexis, and two young children.
Tom Flowers, PGA North East/North West secretary, said today: “Our professionals are very saddened by this tragic news.”
Assistant chief constable Dave Orford, the officer leading the search, said: "Officers have been with Peter's family since the moment he went missing, and we would like to express our sincere sorrow now that we have confirmed he has been found."
A spokesman for Castle Eden Golf Club said members there were trying to come to terms with the tragedy and would be issuing a statement at a later date.
