Mendip Spring Golf Club returns to the PGA fixture list twice this year. The 27-hole complex near Weston-super-Mare in North Somerset has agreed to host a PGA Benevolent Fund pro-am on September 28.
The Golfbreaks.com PGA Fourball Championship West qualifier is also being held there for the first time on June 11. The final is at Belton Woods in August.
Regional manager Robert Moss, who spent 25 years as a professional at the club before joining the PGA staff last year, said: “It is a nice gesture by the club to allow us to use an excellent course for the day. Heidi Mikulla, who runs to club, and head PGA pro Scott Thompson have been most supportive.
“My association clearly made it easier for me to liaise with the club to make the arrangements. Mendip Spring were keen to host a PGA event and the four-ball is an excellent vehicle as it will give clubs from all over the region the chance to appreciate the excellent setting.
“I hope the special benevolent day will also attract teams from all over the region to raise as much as possible for a most worthwhile golf charity.”
