PGA Professionals and Partners gather at British Golf Show

20/05/2024

The British Golf Show in association with The PGA took place at Wycombe Air Park on 17th – 18th May, with 6,729 golf fans attending the Southern edition of the two day show.

115 exhibiting brands showcased their products and services at the show, including a number of PGA Partners and venues such as Antalya Golf Club, as well as Careers in Golf and The PGA’s PGA Play lesson tool, which enables golfers to search for and connect with a trusted PGA Professional in just a few clicks.

Alex Kotlarzewski, PGA Professional and SkyCaddie’s European Sales & UK Customer Support Manager, said: ‘We've showcased the SkyCaddie product line with our brand new SuperTags. It's been great showing the public and also fellow PGA Members and Partners all the new technology that we have. It's great to finally bring it to market - it's been a long time in the making and we’ve had excellent feedback from people trying it out.

“A lot of people have putting mats in their office and now with SuperTags they can practise with a purpose, improve their game and then hopefully that transitions onto the golf course. It's been great to interact with so many people in one place at one time at the show.”

PGA Partner Foresight Sports Europe were also in attendance, providing golf simulators for PGA Play’s coaching area as well as supporting other exhibiting companies using their GC Quad technology.

Justin Sandler, PGA Professional and Sales Executive at Foresight Sports Europe, said:

“We partnered with The PGA a couple of years ago and we provide launch monitor and golf simulator technology for PGA Pros - there's discounts available and we can help them with building their indoor academies, their teaching outdoors, any environment that they want to use our technology in, and we are there to support them as well.

“It's been a brilliant event this year. This is my fourth year at the British Golf Show - I've been to every one of them since it's been here. It's growing and it's getting busier every year. It's been tiring, but it's been amazing.”

KWM Wealth, partner of the PGA South Region, attended the show for the second year in a row. Shannon Dooley from KWM Wealth explained more about the company: “We look at what people’s short, medium and long-term plans are, what resources they've got around them and what we can do to fill in the gaps and make sure they achieve all their financial goals.

“At the show we’ve been letting people know about what we do and then hopefully we’ll be able to catch up with them and have a little bit more of an in-depth discussion as to how we can help them. I've absolutely loved it. I've never been to any sort of show like this before. I've really enjoyed it, it's been amazing.”

Dooley also took advantage of the golf lessons on offer from PGA Professionals at the show, by having a lesson with Rugby Golf Club’s Zoe North

PGA Professionals Natalie Goodall, Neil Williams and Dave Bartlett from Parley Golf Centre and David Playdon (Nailcote Hall) joined Zoe in delivering a huge 180 golf lessons over the two days.

Content creator Lauren Hearfield (@laurengolfs_), currently a 9.9 handicapper, was one of Williams’ students during the show and came with the goal of increasing her club head speed: “I used to be an ex-England squad gymnast but I had a bad accident and broke my back, so three years ago I decided I'd try golf and now I'm on a journey to try and get to scratch and eventually become a playing professional. From my 15 minute lesson with Neil I’ve managed to get an extra 30 yards carry with a seven iron and 83 mph club head speed. I'll take it!”

Goodall, who was coaching at the show for the first time, said: “I had an unbelievable weekend up at Wycombe Air Park. It was really good to be part of the PGA coaching team there, giving out some free 15 minute lessons and I look forward to it next year.”
