PGA Professionals are being encouraged to take part in a world record attempt - to give the world’s biggest golf lesson.
Coaches from the UK, Ireland and further afield will all take to Instagram Live on May 5, 2020. Each pro will give a putting lesson and the number of live viewers they get on their Instagram will be added to the global total.
Renowned golf coach and PGA Master Professional, David Leadbetter, will give a live talk just before the lesson begins, from his headquarters in Florida.
It’s all in aid of the NHS in the UK and other health charities around the world, as key workers risk their own health to help others during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The current world record is 10,000 participants, but event organiser Gavin Grenville-Wood feels confident that May’s event will surpass that figure.
He said: “There are tens of thousands of PGA Professionals around the world, and these days many of them each have thousands of Instagram followers of their own.
“Right now, the internet is helping us all to stay connected like never before. This is an opportunity for us all to have some fun, be part of something huge, and raise lots of money to support health workers around the world – including our own NHS here in the UK.”
To take part in the world record attempt, golfers should tune into their favourite golf coach on Instagram. PGA Professionals can register to take part by CLICKING HERE.
Anyone who wishes to pledge their support can donate via the event’s JustGiving page.
The world record attempt is the brainchild of a group of golf coaches including Grenville-Wood, Paul Ring, Aaron Jones and Shane Kaye, plus golf coaching organisations Leadbetter Kids Golf, Sharpshooters Junior Golf, Golf Cubs, Pea Wea Golf and Colour Path Golf.
