PGA pros battling for a slice of the £200,000 plus prize fund on offer in this year’s Midland region will have the experience enhanced thanks to a new bespoke tournament vehicle.
The vehicle, a Vauxhall van worth more than £45,000, has been adapted to cater for everything needed to run a successful tournament.
In addition to transporting all the on course furniture such as tee markers, clocks and signage, the van features a scoreboard attached to one of its exterior sides and an area inside where players can record their scores.
It has been supplied by Midland-based recruitment specialists Pertemps and marks the continuation of a relationship with The PGA in England (Midlands) that has lasted almost two decades.
The new van replaces another supplied by Pertemps and the company’s managing director Steve West (pictured right) said: “We’ve been associated for 18 years and previous vans served their purpose but this one is the first bespoke version.
“Our fleet manager Adrian Harris, myself and The PGA’s James Brown (pictured left) have worked closely together to ensure the new one ticks all the boxes when it comes to staging a successful tournament.”
Commenting on the new van, Brown, The PGA in England (Midlands) regional secretary, said: “We’ve got a superb relationship with Pertemps and are delighted with our new tournament vehicle.
“As well as facilitating the running of a tournament, the van will gives us a higher visual presence at events and raise our profile.”
Pertemps, experts in helping job seekers find positions that suit them and employers fill vacancies with suitable recruits, engage The PGA to run its annual golf day for its clients at The Forest of Arden.
West added: “The PGA’s organisation is second to none. The feedback from our guests is always positive and it really sets our event apart from many others.”
