Graeme Robertson is set to rub shoulders with some of the stars of the PGA Tour next month after winning the Goslings Invitational in Bermuda.
The Grangemouth PGA professional’s stellar season reached new highs in an event that saw him play 36-holes on the final day after delays caused by tropical storms.
Robertson finished with a four-under total and picked up a cheque for $11,000 as well as an invitation to the PGA Tour’s $6.9 million Butterfield Bermuda Championship in November.
"It feels amazing,” Robertson shared with The Royal Gazette. “It’s my first time in Bermuda and the first time I’ve seen the courses. It seems I brought Scotland weather to Bermuda. It was really windy, so it suited me really well because I’m used to playing in these sorts of conditions.”
As he prepares for an exhilarating few weeks ahead, Robertson will first head to Spain for the second stage of the DP World Tour’s qualifying school before returning to Bermuda to proudly represent The PGA on golf’s grandest stage.
“Obviously the PGA Tour was a big incentive to why I came here,” he emphasised.
“To come to Bermuda again will be a dream come true, so I’m looking forward to it. I’m going off to Spain to play, and once that finishes, I’ll be back here to play in the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. It’ll be an exciting few weeks for me.”
And that’s exactly what he has done. The Butterfield Bermuda Championship is set to take place on November 14 at the stunning Port Royal Golf Course in Southampton, Bermuda, providing Robertson yet another chance to showcase his ability on the biggest stage.
