Portelli wins again

Glen Portelli (Old Fold Manor) struck again with a two-shot triumph in the Hadley Wood Pro-Am.

The Hertfordshire PGA professional was victorious in the Hendon Pro-Am earlier in May. He also shared second spot at Muswell Hill.

And Portelli showed that he remains the region’s most in-form golfer with a flawless five-under 67 on his latest outing.

He teed off at the fifth hole and made two early birdies to set the tone for his round.

Portelli picked up further shots on a couple of par-fives before his fifth birdie came at his final hole.

Matt Cousens (Grims Dyke) and Mark Baker (Colchester) both shot three-under par to share second. Cousens made a birdie three at his closing hole to force the tie.

Stuart Brown (Thorpe Wood) and Luke Eggleston (LE Custom Fitting Studio) recorded respective scores of 70 to finish tied-fourth.
