PGA pro David Davis has hailed club members after Redditch Golf Club became the top fundraising club for a single charity in the UK in 2013 – its Centenary Year.
The Worcestershire club was named as the biggest contributor in a leading trade survey by Golf Club Management.
British golf clubs collectively gave more than £18 million to charities in 2013 and the average golf club gave more than £7,000 to charity.
But Redditch topped the league with a staggering £17,798 which was donated to Help for Heroes.
Fundraising events during the year included a charity golf day, an auction of prizes, competitions and raffles.
Head PGA Professional Davis commented: “It was a fantastic year for the club, we're very proud to have raised so much money for such a worthy cause, the members really dug deep.
“What a lovely way to mark 100 years of golf at Redditch Golf Club,” he added.
