A significant number of PGA Professionals continue their quest for a prized European Tour card – with the start of the second stage of Tour School in Spain.
Four venues will play host to dozens of players over the next four days all looking to book their place in the final stage, which follows next week.
Amongst the hopefuls teeing off today is Rothley Park’s three-time Powerade Assistants’ Champion Matt Cort, who has plenty of Tour experience. He is in the field at Las Colinas.
Play-offs bound James Ablett (Lee-on-the-Solent), Garry Houston (De Vere Carden Park) and East Berkshire’s Paul Newman – a contemporary of Cort – are at Campo Golf El Soler.
A quartet of players with plenty of Tour experience between them line up at Lumine including Liam Bond (Marriott St Pierre - pictured) and David Higgins (Waterville), who have both come through the rigours of Q-school to secure their card in recent years. They are joined by Matt Ford, who has just ended his campaign on the Challenge Tour, and Niall Kearney, the newly-crowned Irish No 1.
Sutton Coldfield’s Andrew Cheese and Ian Ellis (Great Yarmouth and Caister) are looking to get through at Panoramica.
