Ryan Pudney racked up six birdies in a round of 69, giving him victory by two shots in the Weston Homes Royal Cromer Pro-Am.
Pudney, the PGA professional at nearby Mundesley, made it a double success on the day by also leading the winning team in the pro-am.
He was out early on and laid the foundations for his individual stroke-play success with a superb start that saw him three-under-par after just six holes.
Around the turn, he dropped shots at nine and 11, but cancelled both of those blips out with birdies at 10 and 12.
Pudney even moved to four-under-par at one stage, thanks to a two at the short 17th. However, a dropped stroke at the last left him the man to beat at three-under in the clubhouse.
His nearest challenger eventually proved to be Sandy Lodge’s Crue Elliott, the only other player to break par on the day. Elliott, who shot 71, was finishing second for the third time inside a week after sharing that position at both of the Order of Merit events, the Weston Homes plc Colchester Classic and the Weston Homes Royal Cromer Classic.
Jason Levermore (Channels) fired a level-par 72 to take sole possession of third place. Colchester Golf Club professionals Mark Baker and Chris Cutchie tied for fourth alongside Stuart Brown (Orton Meadows) – each shooting 73.
