Qualifier abandoned due to fog

The Titleist & FootJoy PGA Professional Championship West qualifying event at Burnham & Berrow Golf Club was abandoned on Wednesday due to fog.

Poor visibility meant the start of the day’s play at the Somerset venue was delayed for over three hours.

The action finally got under way but any hopes of a finish were dashed when the fog returned later in the afternoon.

After a further 90 minute hold up, the decision was taken to abandon the event and disregard any recorded scores as per regulations.

The qualifier will now be re-arranged on a date and venue to be confirmed.

Burnham & Berrow will host the £91,500 final to be held on June 2-5.
