Andy Raitt had a ‘whale of a time’ on the paradise isle of Maui as he clinched the celebratory 100th Pro-Am Tour event organized by The American Golf Holiday.
Raitt was one of a select band of professionals and amateurs teeing up at Wailea Golf Resort, the private and exclusive King Kamehameha Golf Club and the spectacular PGA Tour venue at Kapalua on the Hawaiian Island.
The St George's Hill pro took an early lead over Horton Park’s Craig Cowper in the professional event.
Prior to the final round, Raitt went whale watching, and the early morning excursion proved inspirational, as he shot a superb 63, including a hole-in-one at the 11th hole of Wailea’s Gold Course, to secure victory. Cowper finished second and Wellingborough’s Simon Lilly was third.
Raitt’s superb final round was also good enough to lead his team of Andrew Flatters, Richard Beach & Carolyn Beach to victory. Anthony Sproston’s team finished second with Lilly’s team third.
