Steve Rastall made the decision to swap Switzerland for Surrey when he joined Silvermere Golf Club in May last year.
But the PGA Professional has been enjoying life back in England after 20 years on the continent, and is now hoping for success in the Golfbreaks.com PGA Fourball Championship.
Rastall will once again team up with Callum Scott for the BMW-supported regional qualifier, which will be held at Epsom Golf Club on Wednesday 21 August.
The pair played alongside each other last year, making it to the final where they finished joint 14th.
Now they will be hoping to do even better this time as they bid for a place in the £28,750 final which will be held at Forest Pines Hotel in Lincolnshire on October 2-4.
And Rastall - who was born in Lincolnshire – is looking forward to the challenge after a successful spell overseas.
He explained: “I went out there when things weren’t looking too bright over here and it worked out for me.
“There were actually a lot of English professionals working out there and a lot of the clubs have strong connections with Britain.
“Nowadays, they’re looking to bring through more Swiss-based players but I enjoyed it.
“I ended up working for the Migros supermarket chain who plough back much of their profits into culture and sport, and that includes golf.”
“But I came back here eventually as I wanted a change.”
Rastall is certain that another appearance in the final is within reach if the pair perform well.
He said: “That has to be the aim, to go back and improve on last year’s result.
“Callum’s playing well so I hope we can qualify.”
Other teams taking part at Epsom include Steven Peters (Tandridge) and Darren Peters (Hampton Court Palace); Christian Tyrrell (New Forest) and Mark Williamson (Paultons Golf Centre) Jack Walls (Haywards Heath) and Chris Croucher (Horsham Golf & Fitness); Peter Hammond and Chris Reed (Shanklin & Sandown); and David Bright and Alex Vezey (Epsom).
