Rastall on top at last

It's been a while in coming but the fine recent form of Sleaford golf club pro Thomas Rastall was finally rewarded with a win at a very well supported Moor Hall Pro-Am.

Following a consistent series of top 10 this month, which included two runners up spots, Rastall made it to the top of the leaderboard at the Sutton Coldfield layout by shooting a six-under-par 64 to win his first event of the season.

Starting in fine style with an eagle three at the first, Rastall never looked back as he plundered five birdies with just the one dropped shot in his round.

The excellent form of Paul Streeter continued as he claimed the runners up spot thanks to a five-under-par 65 containing six birdies with ex Ryder Cup star Paul Broadhurst and Simon Lilly (Wellingborough) sharing third place just one shot further back.

The well-organised event ran by the club and hard working head pro Cameron Clark attracted no less than 39 teams, the most so far for this season.
