Red-hot Ruebotham strikes again

James Ruebotham (Welwyn Garden City) won his second successive event with a stellar display in the St Neots Pro-Am.

Just a week after he secured success in the Bishop’s Stortford Pro-Am, Ruebotham (above) was at it again as he claimed a two-shot triumph in Cambridgeshire.

He shot a five-under 65 to beat Jason Levermore (Channels), with James Webber (Three Rivers) a further shot back.

It was a fine performance from Ruebotham who caught fire to extraordinary effect, twice rattling off four birdies on the spin.

He went from level par after two holes to four-under through six with a stunning scoring spree. His second birdie blitz came from the 11th to the 14th as he tore it up in thrilling fashion.

There was the odd dropped shot in there as well but nobody could deny Ruebotham who has not finished out of the top-four in any of the five East region events that he has played in this year.

Mark Talbott (Thorpe Hall) skipped the top team in the pro-am event.
