Ian Walley continued his good form of late by earning a place in the final of the Golfbreaks.com PGA Fourball Championship after he and James Whatley won the qualifying event at Swindon Golf Club.

The duo posted a commanding nine-under-par round of 62 to lead home the qualifiers at the Wolverhampton venue.

Willey, the reigning PGA Pro-Captain Champion and head pro at Kedleston, is set for a busy few months having also reached the final of the Lombard Trophy.

He and former PGA Cup player Whatley from Morley Hayes finished a shot clear of John Bandurak (Great Barr) and Andrew Cheese (Sutton Coldfield) and Kevin Taylor (Brailsford) and Nicholas Taylor (Kedleston Park).

They will all contest the BMW-supported final at Forest Pines Hotel on Lincolnshire on October 2-4.

Also in action in the autumn showpiece will be Dean Hibbert (Horsley Lodge) and Adrian Saxton (Erewash Valley) who carded a 64- a stroke clear of Matthew Cort (Rothley Park) and Craig Shave (Whetstone), Matt Morris and Liam James (Robert Rock GA) and  Phillip Edwards (Phil Edwards Golf) and Barry Hurt (Polo Trace).
