Richard Robson-Crosby (above), a first year assistant professional at Northumberland club Ponteland, showed nerves of steel to win the PGA North Harold Lees Trophy over the Dore & Totley course in Sheffield.

An eagle at the 519-yards ninth hoisted him into contention but he was always trailing defending champion Andrew Richardson until the closing holes.

That's when the Middlesbrough assistant bogeyed two of the last three for a two-under-par 70 to find himself in a play-off with Robson-Crosby.

And it was the 23-year-old who had the final word, a par at the first extra hole securing victory.

Meanwhile, Hartford's Ian Ridgway won the Druh Belts & Buckles PGA North Assistants' Challenge Order of Merit by 18 points from Andrew Rigby, from Rudding ParK Golf Academy.
