Rod Bastard chalked up a five stroke victory over PGA Cup player Jamie Harris and Jason Kelly in American Golf Holiday’s Whistling Straits Classic Pro-Am.

The Marbella ace carded rounds of 68, 73 and 70 for a 207 five-under-par total over the Irish Course, Blackwolf Run River Course, and the spectacular Straits Course at Whistling Straits, which will host the 2015 US PGA Championship and 2020 Ryder Cup.

Bastard has now claimed Pro-Am Tour victories at Pinehurst and Whistling Straits.

In addition to the pro-am a separate challenge day was played over The Straits Course at Whistling Straits from the 7,100 yard tees, and Kelly shot perhaps the round of the week with a three-under-par 69 for 39 points and victory. St George’s Hill’s Andy Raitt and Harris tied for second.

Kelly (pictured above) led his team of Andrew Flatters, Bob Hyde and Richard Beach to victory in an exciting finish to the 54-hole event, with the top six teams all shooting scores within three shots of each other in the final round.

The highlight of the final round was Hyde’s 87 foot putt for a birdie on the difficult par 3 seventh hole overhanging Lake Michigan.

Raitt’s team finished second and Bastard’s team were third.
