James Ruebotham of Welwyn Garden City produced a round of one-over-par 73 to win the individual prize at The PGA in Hertfordshire Ron King Trophy meeting at Hanbury Manor.
Crue Elliott of Sandy Lodge, the PGA East Anglian champion, was joint runner-up together with PGA in England East captain Paul Hetherington of Great Hadham Golf and Country Club. They both signed for rounds of 74. Ian Taylor (Essendon Country Club) took fourth place with his round of 75.
The win continued what has been a successful winter campaign for Ruebotham in Hertfordshire, during which he has cemented his position at the top of the Order of Merit.
Ruebotham was joint winner with Elliott at Sandy Lodge in February, while this month has been runner-up to home assistant James Jankowski at Essendon and then joint winner with Adam Lewis (Sandy Lodge) and Glen Portelli (Verulam) at Hadley Wood.
Harpenden Golf Club’s team, which consisted of professional Steve Harris and amateurs Keith Wolf, Steve Day and Steve Cook, won the Ron King Trophy with 80 Stableford points which was eight-under-par.
Second and third team prizes were settled on count back between teams with 76 points. Essendon’s team of Taylor, Luke Stephenides, Paul Densham and Martin Wade were runners-up. The East Herts team of Daniel Field, Phil Swann, Gavin Edwards and Julian Dell were third.
