A large field of PGA Professionals and amateur partners took part in the latest PGA in Essex pro-am at Warren Golf and Country Club named in honour of the late George Swan.
George was the brother of Mark, one of the investors at Warren G&CC, and passed away shortly before the tournament following a battle with cancer.
Despite the first frost of the season, the tournament got under way after a short delay and scoring was very good in the difficult conditions.
Coming in towards the end of the field was James Ruebotham (above) from Welwyn Garden City Golf Club with an excellent score of four-under-par 66 which was good enough to take the title by one shot from Chris Cutchie from Colchester Golf Club.
In joint third place with 68s were Mark Bishop from Toot Hill Golf Club and Mark Talbott of Thorpe Hall Golf Club which was enough to retain his lead in the Order of Merit.
The betterball competition was won by Mark Bishop with his amateur partner Will Kirtley with 43 stableford points on countback from Mitch Kierstenson of Penfold Park Golf Club and Jason Spurr.
