Ruth tames Okehampton

James Ruth (China Fleet) carded five birdies and dropped just one shot at the third in winning the Okehampton, a dual Devon and Cornwall PGA pro-am, with a four-under round of 64.

This was one better than Kevin Harper (Sidmouth), who made seven birdies. Richard O'Hanlon (St Kew) was third on 66.

Home professional Ashley Moon and Paul Hendriksen (Dinnaton) were the only other players to break par and shared fourth on 67 while Nick Horrocks (Staddon Heights), Antony Nash (St Enodoc) and Jon Rattenbury (Okehampton) carded 69.

Harper won the team prize on 89 followed by Paul Turpin (Carlyon Bay) and Rattenbury on 85.
