James Ruth won the individual award just a point ahead of his China Fleet colleague Andy Michael in the final Cornish Professional Golfers’ Alliance meeting of the year at St Enodoc.
Ruth carded 72 for a total of 33 Stableford points, an excellent return which reflected the conditions of strong winds gusting at times to near gale force with constant light rain that made scoring very difficult on the demanding championship links at Rock.
They were followed by the consistent Grant Slater (Trevose) on 31 with Richard Sadler (Killiow) fourth on 30 and home assistant Mark Arrowsmith two further shots back.
Will Sumner (Carlyon Bay) and Matt Gunn (Truro) won the pairs with 40 points, making 23 on the back nine. Slater was the leading professional. He and Trevose partner Mike Hayes were runners-up three shots behind.
Only three of the 94 players managed twos between them as the wind made club selection a nightmare on the short holes. They came from Nick Rogers (Falmouth), Sadler and home amateur Martin Biddle.
