Top Cornishman Richard Sadler (Killiow) aced the 205-yard fifth hole at Stover on the way to his first win of the season in the Dual County pro-am.
He was the only player to better par on a difficult scoring day. His one-under 68 followed bogeys at the first and third holes so his ace only brought him back to level. Then he made birdie threes at the sixth, ninth and 10th before shedding further shots at the 13th and 17th.
Andrew Fox (Exminster Golf Centre) and Christian Vine (Woodbury Park) were three shots back in joint second. Fox picked up three birdies and Vine four, but both suffered double bogeys in topsy-turvy rounds.
Paul Hendriksen (Dinnaton) and home professional James Langmead shared fourth on 73.
Home assistant and former regional star man Ross Troake led the winning team on 84, two better than the trio led by Richard Woods (Dainton Park) with Fox taking third place on 81.
