Salisbury successful at Verulam

David Salisbury (David Salisbury Golf) came up with a storming finish to win the GD Construction Pro-Am at Verulam.

Salisbury made birdie at three of the last five holes – including the final two – to shoot a four-under-par round of 68.

That was good enough to leave him two shots clear of Glen Portelli (Old Fold Manor) and Matt Cousens (Grims Dyke). 

Salisbury made a total of seven birdies in all. In particular he cashed in on the par-5s, picking up a stroke at all three of them. 

Cousens led the winning quartet in the team event. They signed for a 13-under total of 129 – one better than Portelli and his partners.
