Sign Of The Good Times

THE third event in the PGA North Members Tour attracted an impressive 59 professionals when the action moved to Northenden.

And to motivate the players even more the powers-that-be stepped up their #welovegolf campaign which is gaining ground.

Poulton Park’s Phil Archer shared the spoils with Matthew Tottey, from North Wales, after finishing on four-under-par 68 at the Manchester club.

Former European Tour player Archer said: “I produced a solid front nine and added birdies at the 15th,16th and 17th. I’m enjoying the season so far and I’ve got some new irons in the bag which have helped me feel a bit more confident.”

Tottey, meanwhile, revealed that he will play more regional events this season.
“I’ve been playing on the EuroPro Tour and Challenge Tour for the last few years but I lost all my exemption categories with the PGA so I’ve decided to concentrate on the region and do some teaching at home.”
