A series of free fun coach and play days is being launched in Scotland aimed at encouraging more girls into golf.
The SLGA Golf Girls initiative, which is being led by SLGA girls development coach and PGA Professional Ian Muir, will tee up sessions at six great courses during April.
The programme is aimed at girls who have some experience of playing golf but they don’t have to be a member of a club or have a handicap.
SLGA hope to be able to encourage the girls to overcome some of the barriers which put them off playing golf. The focus for each day will be to have fun, help the girls to meet and make new friends and increase confidence with follow up sessions in June.
“This is an exciting opportunity for girls to meet other young golfers, have a great day out and improve their game!” said an SLGA spokesperson.
Ladies European Tour player, Sally Watson, has given the scheme the thumbs up.
The dates are:
April 8 - The Whitecraigs Golf Club
April 10 - Strathmore Golf Centre
April 11 or 12 - Kingsfield Golf Centre (TBC)
Apirl 13 - Montrose Golf Links
April 14 - The Nairn Golf Club
April 15 - The Dumfries & County Golf Club
