The second PGA in England (Midlands) 'major' of the season tees off on July 3 as the leading golfers in the region converge on Wellingborough Golf Club for the Glazerite Trophy.
The second Order of Merit competition of the year is a 36-hole contest preceded by a fully booked pro-am event on July 2.
Last year's event resulted in a win for Simon Lilly from the host club, his opening round 64 a tournament best which led him to a comfortable victory.
Other players to watch out for this year include ex-Ryder Cup star Paul Broadhurst, already a winner at the first main competition of the season, The Lotus Financial Services Invitational at South Staffordshire.
Paul Streeter (Lincoln Golf Centre) has also been on tremendous form lately with a number of PGA in England (Midlands) pro-am victories, and last year's Order of Merit champion Matt Cort from Rothley Park can never be ruled out.
John Hewitt, managing director of Glazerite, said: “We're already in the ninth year of what we consider to be a successful partnership with Wellingborough and The PGA in England (Midlands), our continued growth sees us inviting more customers along to the pro-am event than ever before.
“Yet again we have 40 teams entered which is testimony to everyone involved in organising the event and “spreading the word”. I’m sure as always there will be some excellent golf from both the amateurs and the pros across the two days and fingers crossed we get good weather!”
