Stokes and Carne in betterball triumph

The fastest greens encountered all year combined with a strong wind made conditions at Orsett Golf Club quite tricky.

Despite this the scores were very respectable and were headed by the Professional/Amateur partnership of Mark Stokes (above) from Rayleigh Golf Range and his partner David Carne who came home with 43 stableford points.

In the all professional category the ‘hot’ partnership of Jason Levermore from Channels Golf Club and Mark Davis from Thorndon Park lived up to their tag as pre-tournament favourites by combining to produce 42 points.

This was good enough to win by one point from Andy Shakespear of The Warren Golf Club and Marc Dodd from Totally Golf.

The all amateur category was won by the veteran partnership of Ken Richardson and Colin Reynolds from Thorndon Park.
