Paul Streeter defeated a high quality field to win his first PGA Midlands event of the season at the Atherstone Pro-Am.

The Lincoln Golf Centre pro carded a superb six-under-par 66 at a sun baked Warwickshire layout that brought the best out of many of the regional stars.

Following a modest finish in last week's Lotus Invitational event at South Staffordshire it was a welcome return to form for the consistent Streeter who sparked his round to life with an eagle at the fifth hole and recorded five birdies with just the one dropped shot.

His winning margin was two shots over local native Paul Broadhurst who followed up his Lotus win with a bogey free round of 68 and Simon Lilly, the Wellingborough ace matched the ex Ryder Cup star with five birdies in his round.

Low scoring was the order of the day with four others sharing fourth place after two-under-par rounds of 70. In the team event Streeter recorded a notable double as he guided his playing partners to a tight one shot victory over the teams led by Matt Stephens and Lee Clarke.
