Martin Woodbridge (Bearwood Lakes) held his nerve to become the 2014 BB&O Professional Champion after a play-off victory at Magnolia Park.

After 36 holes there was a three way tie at the top with Woodbridge level pegging with Paul Simpson (West Berks) and Guy Woodman (East Berks) at five under on 141.

The trio were three strokes clear of Clive Bowler and Tom Fleming leaving the leading trio to fight it out in a sudden death shootout.

Unfortunately former PGA Professional Champion Simpson saw his challenge end on the first extra hole when he found water to card a bogey.

The remaining two proceeded to the second hole where Woodman found the bunker leaving Woodbridge two putts to land the title.

Woodbridge reserved special praise for Magnolia Park describing it as a ‘great venue and challenge.’
