Michael Watson claimed top spot at the Upavon pro-am to take his seventh win in just 18 days.
There was a sense of normal service being resumed at the Wiltshire course, as the Wessex Golf Centre PGA Professional’s four-under-par return of 67 proved too much for the competition to match.
Watson suffered an early scare at the second hole, though, a double bogey six more than wiping out his birdie on the first hole.
But he gradually added another six birdies and only dropped one more shot at the 16th on his way to a one-stroke success.
Barry Forster, the assistant at North Wilts who is enjoying his most successful playing season, also made seven birdies but suffered four bogeys.
Paul Jones (Canford Magna), another in-form player, was fourth on 69. Successive bogeys at 12 and 13 proved costly after four birdies.
Sion Bebb (Vale Hotel), Giuseppe Licata (Bristol Golf Centre) and James Pickard (Honiton) were the only other players under par, sharing fourth on 70.
Forster won the team prize on 128, beating Andy Beal (Salisbury) on countback, with the Jones group a further shot back.
