Talbott, Levermore and Clapp share success

Mark Talbott (Thorpe Hall), Jason Levermore (Channels) and Andrew Clapp (Brickendon Grange) all shot three-under-par rounds of 69 to finish joint-first in the Links (Newmarket) Pro-Am.
Talbott was the first of the trio out and made a brilliant start, eagling the opening hole – a par-five. He also made a gain at the fifth hole.
Talbott did drop a couple of strokes but hit back strongly with birdies at the 13th and 16th for his 69.
Levermore, who won at Orsett earlier in the week, was very solid and had it to four-under through 13 holes. But he gave one back at the 15th and had to settle for a three-under score.
Clapp was in the last group out on the golf course and put together a very polished round. He was three-under at the turn and parred his way to make it a trio at the top.
Luke Bowers (Lakeside Lodge), Glen Portelli (Verulam), Ed Morton (EM Golf Studio) and George Hewitt (Brickendon Grange) shared fourth spot after respective 71s.
Neil Mitchell (Bury Golf Range) led the winning team on a total of 129, beating the quartet led by Morton on countback.
